NBA 2K25 Cross-platform Information

PC (Win) players can only play with other PC (Win) players. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can play together. PlayStation 4 players can only play with other PlayStation 4 players. Xbox One players can only play with other Xbox One players.

While each store may cross-play with other versions on the same platform, it cannot play with versions in a different cross-play group.

Can NBA 2K25 be cross-played?

NBA 2K25 introduces crossplay for New Gen consoles, offering enhanced multiplayer experiences, cross-gen entitlements, and shared progression within console families.

Crossplay

• Supported Platforms: Crossplay is available between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S across all game modes.

• Disable Crossplay: Players can opt out through their console settings.

  • PS5: Main Menu > Features > Settings > Crossplay > Off.

  • Xbox Series X|S: Settings > Online Safety & Family > Privacy & Online Safety > Xbox Privacy > Connection & Multiplayer > Set “You can join cross-network play” to Block.

• Voice Chat: Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S can communicate via in-game voice chat when crossplay is enabled.

• Improved Matchmaking: Crossplay is expected to reduce matchmaking times due to a larger pool of players across both platforms.

Cross-Gen Entitlements

• Nintendo Switch and PC: No need for cross-gen entitlement as they do not have multiple generations.

• PlayStation and Xbox Digital Editions:

  • Digital purchases come with keys for both generations of the console family (PS4/PS5 and Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S).

  • Physical Editions:

    • PS4: Includes Dual-Gen through Sony’s upgrade mechanism.

    • PS5: Does not include Dual-Gen.

    • Xbox One: Includes Dual-Gen code in the box.

    • Xbox Series X|S: Does not include Dual-Gen.

• VC Allocation: The 100,000 VC for All-Star or Hall of Fame Editions is shared across generations within the same console family.

Cross-Gen Progression

• Supported: MyTEAM Cross-Progression and a Shared VC Wallet are enabled within console families:

  • PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

  • Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S

• Shared MyTEAM Progress: MyTEAM Points, cards, and progress transfer between generations within the same console family.

• Shared VC Wallet: Earned or purchased VC is accessible across both generations of the same console family.

• Cross-Platform Progression: Not supported for MyCAREER or MyTEAM between different platforms.
